DOLOMITSANDWERKE – A LEADER IN SUSTAINABILITY

As a producer of raw materials, Dolomitsandwerke depends on the natural environment. For this reason, responsible stewardship of natural resources is at the heart of everything we do. Through our renaturation measures, we strive to give back to nature what is temporarily taken during the extraction process.

Drawing on more than 60 years of expertise, we continuously work to minimise the environmental impact of our operations by reducing CO₂ emissions, noise and dust pollution, while driving ongoing improvements in environmental performance.

RECLAMATION OF EXTRACTION SITES

Dolomitsandwerk's strong commitment to environmental responsibility is already reflected in the planning of extraction sites. Even before extraction begins, detailed plans are established outlining the phased restoration process and defining how the area will be developed following the completion of operations.

The extraction process itself is carried out with a strong focus on resource efficiency and environmental protection.

MODERN VEHICLE FLEET

With more than 80% of its lorries meeting the Euro 5 emission standard, Dolomitsandwerk Berndorf plays a leading role in environmentally responsible transport operations and demonstrates its commitment to sustainability in logistics activities.

During the 2019 financial year, we continued to modernise our fleet by replacing additional vehicles with new-generation lorries. These engines are characterised by low fuel consumption and significantly reduced emissions, helping us to further minimise our environmental impact.
